About Gute Sache

A growing number of companies want to invest their competencies and resources to help solve societal problems. To do so effectively they need capable and open minded community partners, which are experts in education and skills development, community well being, youth work, sports, culture, environment and volunteering.

During a period of nine months and in cooperation with local partner organizations, Gute Sache will train community organizations to explore and to realize successful and effective partnerships with businesses.

Inspired by the Dutch programme Goede Zaken of Stichting DOEN and adapted to the German context, Gute Sache itself is a result of a cross sector partnership. The training programme was developed collaboratively by the Bertelsmann Foundation, Generali, KPMG, RWE and the national Corporate Citizenship and CSR-Network UPJ.

  • Seminars and workshops
In the course of three half-day seminars followed by two in depth workshops conducted by experienced trainers, the participants gain practical knowledge and fresh insights into the topic of partnerships with business.
  • Practical project
Knowledge transfer is an integral part of the training. Participants develop and carry out a partnership-project together with the business in question.
  • Support
Between the seminars and the workshops and during the realization of the partnership project participants get support from the local partners and the trainers.
  • Tested curriculum
Methods and materials used were developed in cooperation with experts from KPMG and RWE and piloted during the period of fall 2012 to spring 2013 in the city of Bielefeld as well as in the Ruhr and Rhein-Neckar region.

Beginning in October 2013, Gute Sache will run in seven regions.

Non-profit organizations from the respective regions are entitled to participate. They may register directly with the local partner organizations. Every organization has to be represented by two staff members officially exempted from work by their management. The fee per person is 100€. Participants will receive a certificate for their participation.
